Can we move our call to Thursday morning? I will send the updated notes tonight, so we can use the time to decide what comes next. Let me know if ten works for you.

Type or swipe the message with your normal keyboard and suggestions.

Your test text stays in this browser. If you use dictation, your dictation app’s privacy settings apply.

Compare two ways to write.

Typing is familiar. Speaking may get the words out faster. This test puts both on the same message so you can compare your own pace.

Try a few rounds. Read-aloud results measure speaking alone; a dictation round also includes waiting for the text and correcting it. The useful number is how long it takes to get a message you can use.

About the test

Can I use swipe typing and autocorrect?

Yes. Use your keyboard as you normally would, including swipe typing, autocorrect, and word suggestions. The test measures the text you finish and the time you take. To compare keyboards, repeat the same message with each one and keep your settings consistent.

How do I compare typing with dictation on iPhone?

Finish the typing round, choose Use dictation, and tap Start dictation. Then tap your keyboard’s microphone and say the same message. Make any corrections and tap Finish dictation. The timer includes waiting for the text and editing it, so the result reflects the whole round.

What if I only want to time my speaking?

Choose Speak aloud after the typing round. Start the timer, read the message, and stop when you finish. No microphone permission is needed. The result is labeled as timed reading because it excludes transcription and editing.

How are WPM and accuracy measured?

Typing WPM counts five characters as one word, using matching characters in your final text. Capitalization, punctuation, and repeated spaces are ignored for accuracy. Dictation uses the same scoring. Timed reading shows spoken words per minute, and the comparison uses elapsed time for the same message.

Can I compare my keyboard with Auri?

Yes. Finish a round with your usual keyboard, then repeat the same message with Auri. Try typing, swiping, or dictation with each. The test uses whichever keyboard you have selected on your phone. Keep the message and settings consistent, and try a few rounds to account for practice.

Is the mobile typing test free?

Yes. You can use it without an account or installation. The page scores text in your browser and does not record audio. If you use your keyboard’s dictation, its privacy settings apply. Basic tool-use and download-click events contain none of the text you enter. Monthly savings use your chosen daily word count over 22 writing days. The adjustable starting value is 2,500 words a day.

A quicker way to write your next reply.

Auri keeps a full keyboard at your fingertips. Swipe a quick answer, dictate a longer one, and fix the wording before you send it. Try it, then come back and compare.
